Thalia Contreras, Model, actress, fast becoming the darling around the Atlanta communities. At 22, she is an entrepreneur, starting at the age of ten!

Senator Ted Cruz, the darling of many Georgians, dreams to be the first Hispanic American President. Cruz is competing with many candidates including Donald Trump for the republican nomination to run for president.

 

Candidates Ted Cruz and Senator Marco Rubio are of Latin American heritage. They are very much known on the national stage. Both are among many elected  state and local political leaders around the country including Georgia.

 

Many years ago,  Ted Cruz's family escaped repression in Cuba and came to the United states seeking safety, better opportunities to raise a family, enjoy freedoms and realizing their American dream.  

 

Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio are of Latin American heritage, on the national stage. Both are among many elected state and local political leaders around the country including the State of Georgia.

 

Many years ago, perhaps around the same period, a young woman named Lili Contreras, from Columbia, packed her belongings and cleaned her bank account and headed north to safer grounds. She was too after realizing her own American dream and better future for her family, including her young daughter, Thalia Contreras.

Both families, Cruz and Contreras, while never crossed paths, shared common aspirations, dreams, determination and interest in public service and volunteerism. Both families saw their children through education and community and public participation.

Thalia Contreras,  Lili's daughter is fast becoming the darling around and beyond Atlanta's many communities. At 22, she is an entrepreneur starting at the age of ten, a volunteer with a hammer building homes for the homeless and some for the returning veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. She is a long distance runner, co-host on TV, model and actress, beauty queen, helping children through volunteering, attending Georgia State University and expanding on her education in nursing. "I want to help many children. I want to give back to our heroes and future heroes," she said.

 

Contreras is a beautiful, energetic young single woman. She was crowned and admired as beauty queen over the years. Thalia Contreras is inaugurating her own first beauty pageant this month before Thanksgiving, Nov, 21st and 22nd.  The site of her choice is the city of Gainesville at "The Carlos and Snadra Cervantes Theatre For The Arts" in Riverside Military Academy.

 

Thalia Contreras is a volunteer with a hammer building homes for the homeless and some for the returning veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

 

She has received the support of many community and business leaders including the media. She is known as an outstanding leader of events and the brain behind charity work for the children and advancing women, according to several sources.

 

"Volunteering is my way to say thank you to our beautiful state and great country. I hammered many nails into two by fours along with bigger and stronger men with Habitat for Humanity. I joined many helping hands such as Open Hand, Life Care Centers of America, Alzheimer's Association and Camp Twin Lakes. I will never say no to any opportunity to volunteer," she said. "I love dancing Salsa, everybody I know is going to learn salsa wherever they can find an open time for lessons. I had my share of beauty pageants, now it is my turn to produce one of my own. My mother is helping me and I have a good team. I love classical music and I play violin and yes, I enjoy Tae Kwon Do too. I love the outdoors and all the sports,"  said Thalia Contreras.

 

▲ The 22-year-old Thalia Contreras has always been interested in many aspects of the entertainment industry, but it was her love for acting that ignited that spark, in becoming one of the top actresses in Georgia.

According to published press reports, Thalia Contreras mostly known for her great success in the pageant industry is also an, actress, model, and hostess.  As a young girl Thalia enjoyed cheerleading and soccer, but she quickly discovered a love for acting. Contreras became a young Entrepreneur at the age of ten, by starting her own entertainment business as a professional clown. The 22-year-old Thalia Contreras has always been interested in many aspects of the entertainment industry, but it was her love for acting that ignited that spark, in becoming one of the top actresses in Georgia.

While being a full-time student in college and pursing her double major in Acting and Nursing, Thalia started her acting career in the theater.  Some of the plays she has been in are, “Bang Bang you’re Dead” and “A Midsummers Night Dream.” Contreras has been casted in several Independent Films in Atlanta. She has also been seen in television shows including, Oxygen’s Snapped Killer Couples, TV Azteca’s Fanatico Sports, and Univision’s Nuestra Belleza Latina. She has also been featured in national commercials on Univision, NBC, and Telemundo.

 

Thalia’s modeling experience includes various fashion shows in Atlanta, some including Macy’s and Dillards. Her modeling experience has blossomed into her acting career.  "Broadway, watch out, here I come," she said. "Georgia is known for being a movie friendly state. Clint Eastwood produced one of his best movies in Georgia. We are building more facilities to accommodate bigger productions and Atlanta is becoming the Hollywood of the Southeast. We have the most beautiful women in the world. I accepted  leading and supporting rolls and I have an agent," she added.

 

Lights ..  camera  .. and action.. November 21st. and 22nd. all will be focussed on "Miss International Grand Latina". 85 pretty contestants have gone through the process of screenings and selections by dozens of producers, models and judges .Photo by Oliva Garcia. Beyond acting and modeling Thalia considers one of her biggest accomplishment to be co-founding her small entertainment business as a Clown. This has allowed her to use her talents to give back to her community.

 

 

"For the last ten years she has left a trail of laughter and memories and hopes to continue to bring happiness to children and the elderly. Her platform is to advocate the importance of mentoring and empowering the lives of young girls and encourage them to become strong role models and mentors, while instilling confidence and integrity in their own lives. Dealing with low self-esteem, Thalia has been able to discover how important the need for mentoring young ladies really is," said a close friend of Thalia Contreras to Georgia Weekly Post.

 

Thalia currently lives in Atlanta, where she continues to pursue her dreams and goals. Her newest invention is a gala event before Thanksgiving. Lights, cameras and actions will be  focussed on "Miss International Grand Latina".  85 pretty contestants have gone through the process of screenings and selections by dozens of producers, models and judges, on November 21st. and 22nd.

"The list is very long and growing. It's a family event and all will be there to have fun." said Contreras.
