About Dunwoody: Community leaders had a two-year perspective from other young cities before launching their own government. As a result, the north DeKalb city avoided many of the birthing pains experienced by their young neighbors. Nevertheless, Dunwoody has as of late experienced more vocal dissent from an organized faction of residents. Of particular note are the city’s endorsement of redesigning Dunwoody Parkway, installing a roundabout near Dunwoody High School and expanding plans for a trail through Brook Run Park. Vocal opposition has also been raised about giving city leaders the power to form a municipal fire department without consent of the voters.
