The reason I support Bernie Sanders is very easy to explain.
He is the only candidate currently running for president that has consistently demonstrated his loyalty to the common working families of our great country without consideration of their race, sex, sexual orientation, religion or political beliefs.
All the others are either bought and paid for representatives of corporate greed and corruption or on mamouth ego trips, or both. But, all the other candidates do share one trait, lies and deceit. Bernie Sanders is overwhelmingly rated as the most trustworthy candidate from either political party, by members of both parties.
On Bernie's long standing support for the civil-rights movement; As a
student at the University of Chicago in the early 1960s, Bernie took part
in protests against the school’s segregated housing policies and acted as a
student organizer. He was in the crowd in 1963 when Rev. King gave his “I
have a Dream” speech.
On his support for Jesse Jackson;
“There were very, very, very few white public officials at that point who
endorsed Jackson,” Bernie said in a brief news conference before boarding
a flight from Reno to Denver. “But I thought what he was saying made sense.
I had the courage to do that.”
On the economy;
“When we talk about a rigged economy, where the rich get richer and almost
everybody else gets poorer, it’s important to understand that many, many
people have gotten poorer,” he said Saturday at a campaign forum in Reno.
“It has been the African-American community, the [Native-American]
community, the indigenous community, the Latino community that has suffered
the most.” Bernie has long committed to devote his presidency to restoring
our middle class and repairing our crumbling infastructer. He has also
committed to expanding Social Security and providing free health care for
all US Citizens. Bernie will also provide a free college education at
community schools throughout America so our children can finally get a
higher education without spending their next 20 or 30 years in slavery to
their student loans.
On endless wars, from the Sanders website;
"As a member of Congress, I have supported the use of force only when it
was a last resort and America’s vital interests were at stake. I opposed
the first Gulf War, as did many other Members of Congress, because I
believed that there was a way to achieve our goals without bloodshed,
through sanctions and concerted diplomatic action. I supported the use of
force to stop the ethnic cleansing in the Balkans. And, in the wake of the
attacks on September 11, 2001, I supported the use of force in Afghanistan
to hunt down the terrorists who attacked us. I regret that President Bush
did not use that authority properly, and that American combat troops
remained there too long. I voted against the war in Iraq, and knew it was
the right vote then, and most people recognize it was the right vote today.
The only mission President Bush and his neo-conservative friends
accomplished was to destabilize an entire region, and create the
environment for al-Qaeda and ISIS to flourish."
Bottom line, if you want a future you can truly believe in for you and your
family, vote for Bernie Sanders.
